Hampshire Shakespeare Company Presents A Quilt Raffle!
February 17, 2003 - Hadley, MA - The lovely, handmade quilt pictured here will be raffled during the
Shakespeare Under The Stars 2003 season to raise funds for the Company.
This is a handmade, all cotton, queen sized quilt designed and donated by Sarah Strong, our principal costume designer.
Sarah was inspired by the book, The Byrom Collection and the Globe Theatre Mystery, by Joy Hancox - in particular, by a diagram
illustrating the setting out plan for an Elizabethan theater. For those of you lucky enough to have visited the New Globe Theater
in London, you will recognize the celestial theme! This lovely quilt could be yours to take home for as little as $1
(the cost of a single raffle ticket). Drawing for the quilt will take place following the closing of the Young Company Production
of Love's Labors Lost on August 3.
The quilt will be on display in the Hartsbrook School Building during the run of the season.
We hope to display it at other local businesses as well this spring.
