Workshop information:

Another fun, exciting and educational array of Hampshire Shakespeare Summer Workshops taught by enthusiastic, highly qualified theater professionals with experience working with children is coming for 2010.

All Amherst workshops are Monday-Friday 8:45 am - 1:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. Workshops are limited to 12 participants. Workshop participants should bring a snack and lunch. Performances will be on Friday at 12:15 pm, and are open to the public.

Easthampton workshops are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am– 4:30 pm. They are limited to 15 participants. Performances will be on Fridays 4:00 pm, unless otherwise noted, and are open to the public.

Full payment is due in order to reserve a space. All workshops are filled on a first come, first served basis. No phone reservations. A confirmation letter will be sent beginning in early April.  If a workshop is full, you will be called immediately.

Little Folk Tales

Fantasy, fairy tales, fables and fun ... the younger actress/actor will enjoy this chance to create small scenes through theatre games and the use of simple costumes and props.  A short presentation will take place on the final day.

Create your own character – funny, wild, mysterious or anything imaginable, but definitely unforgettable. Then mix them all together to create a brand new play to remember!

Suspense!

Create an original play to make one shiver with excitement and jump in surprise. Using improvisation and theater games, actors will develop and stage their own suspenseful (and likely hilarious) play!

Fantasy and Myth

Start with age old myths or popular fantasy tales or something from your own imagination, mix in a little improvisation, sprinkle with some theater games and you have just the potion for creating a fantastic original show.

Take a simple scene. Play it as a Comedy, or a Western, or a Fantasy or whatever you like. Then put them all together to create a fast paced variety show guaranteed to puzzle, delight and amuse.

Outrageous Comedy

Perfect for the aspiring comedian or anyone who wants to have fun. Using improvisation and theater games, participants will learn to find the funny while creating an original comedy show.

SKETCH COMEDY!

Create and perform you own sketch comedy show. Using improvisation and theater games and their own imaginations, teens stage a laugh-out-loud riot of fun.
Workshops in Easthampton

Hampshire Shakespeare Company (HSC) will once again bring an array of educational, exciting and delightfully fun theater workshops to the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton this summer. We're pleased to announce that Jo Ann Valle from the Education Program at Shakespeare & Company will rejoin us, and that Kelly Norris will join us for the week of July 19-23. Classes are available for children ages 6-13, and run the weeks of July 5, 12, 19 and 26, Monday through Friday from 8:30 – 4:30 including a performance open to the public on each Friday at 4:00 pm.  Download a registration form now.

Note: the week of July 5 is now full for all age groups, and the weeks of July 12 and July 26 are full for ages 9-13.
